Fit2Go Recipe: Simple Skillet Green Beans (Side Dish)

WHAT IT IS:

Simple skillet green beans are quick and healthy green beans cooked on the stove top. They are simple, not time consuming and very flavorful!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 12 oz green beans trimmed (you can buy pre-trimmed or trim them yourself! Up to you!)
  • Red pepper flakes to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic or 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 C water

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

 

  1. Heat olive oil over medium-high heat in skillet
  2. Add red pepper flakes to taste (A few sprinkles should be good, keep in mind a little bit o these go a long way and you can always add later!)
  3. Add green beans and cook on medium-high heat, stirring frequently until they have patches of brown on them
  4. Add garlic and stir
  5. Add salt and pepper to taste
  6. Add water
  7. Cover and reduce heat to medium
  8. Cook until tender to your liking! About 2-4 minutes
